Engraving/NFC Option

Just wanted to post up a quick note regarding the option to have your contact number engraved on the badge holder,

I've had a few requests to add this as an option so in the event your badge is lost a contact number is engraved to enable the person to get in touch to return to owner.

Although this is a great idea, and it is possible to engrave or Lazer mark the badge holder, unfortunately it isn't viable for me to offer this service. This is due to the cost incurred to individually engrave each holder with a personalised contact number each time.

HOWEVER....I've come across a possible solution or alternative to this in the form of NFC stickers.

For anyone unfamiliar with NFC technology...this has been around for a while and is similar to the RFID tech used in credit or debit cards. Most android and IOS phones are already NFC enabled meaning a person is able to scan the NFC sticker directly with their phone without any installed apps and the information will appear on the phone.

The NFC stickers can be programmed very easily to include any information you'd like to put on there but simply in this case you will be able to upload your name and contact number so in the event that your badge holder is lost, anyone that finds its can simply tap their phone onto the sticker bringing up your details to get in touch. There are many apps available to "write" onto a blank NFC sticker or tag and is very easy to do.

The idea is that the NFC sticker can be simply stuck onto the back of the badge holder as an alternative to engraving.

These stickers are widely available and relatively low cost but will be available to purchase from the cabbiez website directly if you wish to add this to your order. Although these are widely available, I'm offering this directly for convenience when ordering and for those that want to add their contact details I'll be able to have it set up and ready with the required info when you receive your order or alternatively can be sent blank for you to be able to upload your own info yourselves using a third party app.

As always, I will try to keep the costs of this down, but a small charge will be for printing and postage costs. If anyone has already puirchased a badge holder and wants to order a tag from cabbiez i always send out items using a tracked service so the price listed is reflective of postage, printing and sourcing costs essentially. Just an option for convenience really. 

I will update everyone once I can gather more info on how these will be used and how easily they can be programmed with name and contact number information, which from what I have seen already is relatively straight forward.
